Why are fire safety plans required?

Fire safety plans are required in Ontario for several important reasons

As per the Fire Protection and Prevention Act, 1997, part 7 of Offences Section 28(5):
A director or officer of a corporation who knows that the corporation is violating or has violated a provision of the fire code is guilty of an offence and on conviction is liable to a fine of not more than $50,000 for a first offence and not more than $100,000 for a subsequent offence or to imprisonment for a term of not more than one year, or to both.

When / where are fire safety plans required?

Having a fire safety plan is crucial for ensuring the safety of occupants and minimizing risks in any setting where fire hazards may be present.
