Fire separations are used to create separate fire-resistant zones within a building or between buildings. These zones are often used to divide large, complex buildings into smaller, more manageable sections. This helps limit the spread of fire from one unit to another, protecting both lives and property.

Penetrations such pipes, ducts, or cables that pass through fire separations must be properly sealed to maintain the integrity of the fire barrier
